20 Strategies for Motivating Reluctant Learners

What's your reaction when you have reluctant learners in your class? Kathy Perez has 20 strategies to motivate them!
Are there any of these strategies that you wouldn't also use with an adult learner?
Kathy Perez has decades of experience as a classroom educator, with training in special education and teaching English language learners. She also has a dynamic style. Sitting through her workshop presentation was like being a student in her classroom. She presents on how to make the classroom engaging and motivating to all students, even the most reluctant learners, while modeling for her audience exactly how she would do it. The experience is a bit jarring because it’s so different from the lectures that dominate big education conferences, but it’s also refreshing and way more fun.

Very often there are mixed ability classes  in our  secondary schools that's why we are persistently in search of how to teach English with the best result for all.
Here I'd like to share some ideas from BRITISH COUNCIL and also of  Nick Michelioudakis (or ELTNick) which I found useful and helpful in such situation.
So,you're welcome to read these articles :

21st of February - International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language Day is celebrated every year on 21st February. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to promote the awareness of language and cultural diversity all across the world. It was first announced by UNESCO on November 17, 1999. Since then it is being celebrated every year. The date represents the day 21st February 1952 when four young students were killed in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, because of Bengali and Urdu language controversy. Languages are the most powerful way to preserve and develop culture and to promote it all across the world. Because of this unfortunate incident, International Mother Language Day is celebrated in all over the world, while it is a public holiday in Bangladesh.
The theme of the 2016 International Mother Language Day is “Quality education, language(s) of instruction and learning outcomes.”
